A sweet 16 party pack gift guide

My cousin turned 16 this past weekend and I was so excited that we had planned to cruise down to the dessert to wish her the happiest sweet 16 ever. She and I have always been close, but over the past couple years she has come and stayed with me for weeks at a time each summer and we have become even closer. She is such a wonderful and beautiful girl and I am so proud of all that she has accomplished these past couple of years. I remember not long ago she was in middle school and asked me to join her for bring your parent to school day. Her parents had work, so she asked them if I could go and it was such an honor. And now she is getting her diver’s license and riding dirt bikes like she a pro.

I wasn’t sure what exactly she would want for her birthday so I put together a fun little pack of goodies I knew she would like. Along with some “do what you want with it” money. Needless to say I think she liked it.

So here is what I did:

I threw together some everyday necessities. Most can be found at your local drug store.

  • Happy Birthday Glasses
  • Neutrogena lip gloss
  • Covergirl Lash Blast
  • Conair bobbypins
  • Ouchless hair bands
  • Eye make up remover pads
  • Essie Over The Edge Nail Color
  • Essie Mezmerised Nail Color
  • A Surprise Check
  • Festive Flair Confetti
  • Bakers Twine
  • Homemade Birthday Card
  • Brown Bakers Box

Pack it all in

Add some fun confetti

Tie it up with a bow and you are done! Pretty simple and easy to add anything you want.

A Birthday for the Ages

I am SO excited for this weekend! I am lucky enough to share my birthday with my father, the 28th of October. For as long as I can remember (last year being the one exception) we have always had major, I mean MAJOR, Halloween theme parties to celebrate.

This year pops is turning the big 6-0 so we are going all out with a H.G. WellsWar of the Worlds” theme. All of us attendees are our ‘New Leader’ (my father)’s minions and we will spend the night covered in glow sticks, playing glow in the dark beer pong, participating in costume contest, dancing, and of course karaoke.

A while back I started a Pinterest board to catalog ideas, you can check it out {here}. Then I made the invite & started with this…

and ended up with this. . .

We have been busy bee’s working away to put together all of the decorations. Which means many DIY projects to come.

I am so excited to see how it all turns out and to celebrate my dad, not only because he is wonderful and I love him, but he deserves a party for the ages.

Looking forward to sharing with all of you : )

Pirate Party~

More to come, but my lovely friend Amanda over at IGoYouGo did a wonderful feature on our Pirate Party from last weekend. I am still gathering pictures and printables. But follow this {LINK} for the whole post.

Ahoy Mates

we finally made a decision on Thomas’ birthday party invites and I am so happy with the result. After hours of working on making it by hand I felt a little overwhelmed and decided to outsource the job. I went over to TinyPrints and instantly fell in love with this invite

And to make it even more fun I asked Matt to design a little treasure map with directions to the party.

* I blurred out the streets for privacy

With those out in the mail I feel so ready to get really into party planning.

I have already picked up a couple packs of these . . .

From {MeriMeri} for $11.95

& a couple of these to for the kids to play on . . .

From {blowout party} for $29.99

Stay tuned . . .
