I mentioned earlier this week that I was off to celebrate my mother Master’s graduation. So I put together a fun Sunday morning brunch, fiesta style.

I started with a fun little garland. . .

Supplies:

  • Crepe Paper
  • Washi Tape
  • Needle
  • Thread
  • Scissors

Steps:

  1. Cut the paper in about a 12 in strips. Beginning at one end roll & fold the layers around to form a flower. Make sure to tightly grip one end of the flower.
  2. Once you have the flower looking they way you want twist a bit of tape around the end to keep it intact.
  3. Once you have your flowers ready, string them with the needle and thread. Glue or tape to anything you want!

So next step I got up early Sunday morning while everyone was still in bed and ran to the supermarket. Picked up some supplies. Got home and did some decorating and cooking.

For the buffet backdrop I threw up some of the same crepe paper and again used washi tape to keep it up.

Made a little sign to show mom how proud of her we are

And then the food!

The menu was

Ranch style potatoes with chorizo which were topped by cheese, sour cream, avocado, and poached eggs. Or my spanish version of an eggs Benedict. Then of course you could create your own plate with fresh salsa & guacamole with mini heirloom tomatoes, tortillas, and beans.

and lastly.

I promise this is the last thing. . .

The drink bar

We had the standard mimosas and then bloody beers with Dos Equis, Margarita salt mixed with cayenne pepper, tabasco, and bold and spicy bloody mary mix.

Fiesta, it was! Yummy and fun. Led to an entire day of basking in the beautiful sun, playing cards, and spending time with wonderful people!

Congrats again, Mama!
