Bachelorette by Ali Winston Photography

I am a little behind on this, but I am just now gathering all my pictures from the Bachelorette, Rehearsal, Wedding & Honeymoon. And let me tell you there are quite a few. But I have had a couple of people inquire about the bachelorette and what we did.

For my bachelorette weekend we rented this beautiful home in Temecula, a popular Southern California wine tasting destination. Thus we planned to do some wine tasting and pool lounging throughout the weekend.

Friday night we got all dressed up and headed to downtown Temecula and after drinks and a little wait we snagged a table at Public House. They were so great to us, our waiter was so patient being a 20 something guy dealing with 15 ladies. After several bottles of wine and stuffing ourselves we nixed the idea to go out dancing and headed back to the house to hit the spa and relax.

Saturday, my wonderful sister who planned the weekend, scheduled for us take a limo tasting at 3 wineries. We started at Falkner Winery, then headed to a smaller tasting at Vindemia (their sparkling grenache is amazing) and finished off a tasting and lunch at Mount Palomar Winery. Each tasting room had their benefits, we each received a free glass at Falkner and our guide was quite the funny man. Vindemia was a small, romantic, & outdoor tasting area. It was by far my favorite, the wine was wonderful and although it was hot hot hot, we really enjoyed ourselves. Mount Palomar was quite large and fairly busy, they had the most diverse tastings and the older man behind the bar had all of us swooning.

After tasting we were all happily buzzing through the afternoon and spent the rest of the day lounging by the pool, snacking, and playing games. While making our cocktails we played a game my sister put together, we all had a blast going through the questions.

It’s usually around this time of year (aka Valentines Day) that my mind starts getting fuzzy with love. Remember those days looking across the blacktop at the boy you like thinking, I wonder if he likes me too? It’s fun to think back on those moments and how easy love was. It was inspired and simple, but also was the biggest deal to our little hearts.

Looking around I see more beauty in things and feel a warmth in my heart. When I think of the word romance and what it means to me I think: love, generosity  warmth, elegance, delicacy, & dreaming. While roaming around pinterest I saw a picture of a woman in a incredibly glamorous dress walking through a field (above) and it inspired me. It represents a part of love and how big something can make you feel with the simplest of thoughts.

I might sound crazy. But hey, I kind of really love love…

So…

Some stuff happened recently. Good stuff. In fact that stuff was so good I have been completely oblivious to the blog. I have missed it and thought of it many times, but have not had the time or thought capacity to get back to it. So I have decided on baby steps.

Where to begin? Well we FINALLY did it. Tied the knot I mean. Which was amazing. Everything was perfect. But the whole wedding saga will come in time. Once we receive all the photos I look forward to sharing all the details with you.

But for now I want to share a sneak peek of our invites. I have been dying to put them up here and rave about the amazing time I had working on them and designing them with the help of Joy Laforme of Sage and Berries. She did such a terrific job creating the floral set. Really she created my dream.

With just a few emails back and forth Joy created a beautiful set of florals and I had the start to my invite suite. It was such a special experience being able to create the invites myself and work with Matt. It added to the excitement and overall idea of the wedding. it also really helped me fine tune the decorations I was creating.

Which leads me to my new logo. I knew once I started working on the flowers that I planned to incorporate them into Could Be Interesting. So with this logo will come some changes to the site. Hopefully lots of good fun changes!

I really can’t wait to show you the rest. But that will come in time. Be sure to check in and see the changes that will be coming! It’s going to be fun!!

A Mint and Pink Bridal Shower

Put together the fabulous Amanda of I Go You Go Blog, photographed by Ali Winston, and desserts were provided by Jennie of Pop Culture Desserts.

A little bit about the party: This event was held at the Omni Hotel in downtown San Diego. The event was a bridal shower Amanda helped throw for a neighbor.  The food was light finger sandwiches with salad and a BIG dessert bar. This was a booze free fete so we did Cucumber and lime water, sweet tea and pink lemonade.  The decor was centered around these amazing gold table cloths, we added touches of mint green and pale pink.  The back drop is hand dyed white sheets cut into strips.

All three women did such a wonderful job I just had to share.

Bachelorette Part II ~ The Goodies

I felt so lucky to have all of these wonderful women with me for my bachelorette so I wanted to do just a little something for them. So I started planning the bachelorette goodie bags. Oh dear, did I have a blast picking out all of the little gifts.

It all began with the awesomely colorful options at BAGGU. I knew it would be middle of summer so the girls might appreciate a festive summer bag. I went ahead with some of the essentials which included: a variety of Essie colors, Revlon nail files, hand sanitizer, sofia coppola champagne cans, mimosa lollies by The Groovy Baker, elastic hair ties, nail polish remover pads, a thank you card, some home made tattoos, EOS lip balms, and handmade crepe paper flowers.

They were a hit to say the least. I think the best part was the set up because each girl got to pick out the items they wanted in their bags. And I tried to pick out the colors and items that each girl would not only like, but really get to use. And use we did!

p.s. Essie’s California Coral & Fifth Ave were a total hit! xo

Bachelorette Part I ~ The Cocktail

For my Bachelorette I wanted to something fun and a little different. I knew we would be wine tasting so I wanted to mix it up with a Whiskey Cocktail (lady friendly version). For the recipe I knew I could go to the wonderful Michael Rooney of Liquid Culture for some ideas. Via text he provided me with about 5 solid cocktail recipes. Each sounding better than the last. But the one I could not resist was the Louisville Lemonade. Oh man was he spot on. This was the perfect evening cocktail to enjoy while playing bachelorette games. I threw together this. . .

and here are a couple of pictures of us taking full advantage of the deliciousness that is Michael Patrick Rooney’s Louisville Lemonade

Michael really nailed it. I absolutely loved the drink. It was just one piece of the great weekend that was my bachelorette! Thanks Michael for the recipe and Ali for the pictures.

This Weekend Briefly

It’s been a while and I am sorry about that. But as the school year and wedding approach I am finding myself with less time to write on the blog. I am going to work on it but I make no promises.

We began the weekend with the boys spending the afternoon at the pool while I prepped for our evening supper club. I made smoky scalloped potatoes and a blue cheese bacon dip. Both were absolutely wonderful and I will be sharing more on this later. Saturday was spent school shopping followed by an afternoon at the beach. We got Thomas his first wet suit and he was, understandably, extremely excited to try it out. You know that feeling when you purchase some new outfits or a new gadget and you can’t get home soon enough to try them out? Well that was Thomas and despite the 80 degree weather he threw that thing on and we hiked down to the beach.

During this time we also got the majority of our wedding invites out. It took me the better half of the week to get everything together, but they are out and I am very thrilled about it! Shout out to Olive Manna for having the perfect peach twine that added a little extra to the invites.

To end the day on Saturday I was inspired to make a simple dinner completely handmade. Which we accomplished as a family, which made it such a treat. The menu? Homemade pasta with homemade pesto. It was quite an adventure. We all took turns rolling out the dough and mixing it. In the end I completely understand the use of something like this but I enjoyed doing it all by hand, successfully.

After a couple of fun packed days I was looking forward to a relaxing Sunday, which entailed getting the rest of the wedding invites out, helping with some bridal shower planning, prepping for kindergarten, and purchasing honeymoon tickets! Yipee!

Wedded Wednesday {Our Wedding Website Update}

I have been lagging on getting together our wedding website and last week I decided to take some time to update. It is still a work in progress (can you tell I am acting a bit OCD) but so far I am pretty excited about it.

Here are a few page images

Bachelorette Inspirations

Not only are we rapidly approaching my bachelorette weekend, we are also only 4 months away from the wedding. Which is just nuts. Matt and I have been engaged for one year and nine months. Which you could say is 21 months. That is A LOT of months. So now that we are down to crunch time wedding related thoughts, inspirations, and ideas rarely leave my mind.

So I am starting to piece together some of the things I would like to do over my bachelorette weekend. Here are some inspirations I have going…

1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8

I plan on drinking champagne, lounging by the pool, indulging in yummy cheeses and I am pretty excited about all of it.

Wedded Wednesday: A For, Like Ever Bridal Shower

I am lucky enough to have some cool blogger friends that put together some seriously fun parties. Sharon from Cupcakes and Cutlery was sweet enough to put together a bridal shower for Lauren of A Fabulous Fete. True to form Sharon had an awesome day planned out and recruited Amanda and I to help with the set up. Here are some of the great pictures from the event. . .
